Restaurant indien moderne Birmingham

Can't fault this place. Warm welcome on arrival, prompt and friendly service from the waitress, amazing food (try the Thali - you won't regret it), great cocktails and a warm, cosy environment with a nice vibe.

A street food Indian, high quality, very fast service. Clue was lots of Asian kids eating there, sign of proper menu choices. Recommended

So i have visited the place a few times. With large numbers of people and just my partner & every time its been really nice. I would say definitely book in advance as it is usually really busy especially over the weekends. Staff are very welcoming and happy to help with suggestions on the menu. Food is delicious and a good mix on some of the classic dishes we know. Can't go wrong with the butter chicken and the tandoori dishes. Definitely a must try in my opinion.

I recently visited Tamatanga in Birmingham, and it was a pretty good experience overall! The restaurant has a vibrant, laid-back vibe, making it a great spot to enjoy flavorful Indian street food. I ordered the thali, and it was absolutely delicious! The variety of flavors was impressive, and every dish on the platter was well-prepared with great taste. It’s a perfect option if you want to try a little bit of everything. The portion was generous, and the food tasted fresh and authentic. The atmosphere was lovely—colorful, lively, and inviting. However, the waiter wasn’t in the best mood, which was a little disappointing, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience too much. The food definitely made up for it! Despite the minor service issue, the food was top-notch, and the restaurant has a great ambience. I’d definitely recommend a visit if you’re looking for flavorful Indian food in a casual, fun setting! ⭐ Rating: 4/5

Cannot fault anything! Really good value for money, the Thali for £25 is amazing and would definitely recommend even though it is definitely on the pricier side! Service also great, we were a table of 8 and our waitress was really patient and efficient

The service is excellent, but the food lacks the correct spices. Some curries are bland and others Not so bad …A couple of times quite disappointing even when ordering takeaway recently hoping a different dish would be better homestyle chicken curry Was extremely light handed on the spices and flavour

Food was pretty good although I would say certain dishes could have been better but overall solid. Seimarah was our waitress and she was the BEST! Great personality, she was so funny and made sure we had everything we needed! Overall great experience and good family outing 👍

Tamatanga in Birmingham offers an inviting atmosphere with modern decor, a clean environment, and friendly customer service. The meal deal, priced at £15, is reasonably affordable for a city-centre establishment. However, while the setting and service are commendable, the food itself leaves much to be desired. The dishes feel distinctly pre-prepared, likely reheated rather than freshly made, resulting in a lack of vibrancy in both texture and flavour. The quality of the meat is particularly disappointing—overly fatty, with an abundance of gristle that makes for an unpleasant dining experience. The chicken, in particular, has an off-putting taste, raising concerns about freshness. Despite its appealing ambiance and fair pricing, the subpar food quality overshadows the positives. Unfortunately, it’s not a place I would revisit.

First time trying Tamatanga honestly it did not disappoint the Thali was amazing so delicious the food was hot and very good quality. It was a bit chaotic as it was a Saturday but the service and standard of food was top quality! Very good if you are vegan/ gluten free lots of selection. A really great place and good value for your money would definitely be coming back here. The service and staff were friendly and helpful too.

We visited Tamatanga for our anniversary dinner last night. Food was delicious, and our anniversary was made even more special by this lovely lady named "Seimarah" who served us. Had lovely conversations, and her suggestions on what to order were spot on! Very hardworking, kind, and courteous ! Such an asset to Tamatanga for sure. Food was delicious. We ordered tamatanga thali and I had mango lassi!

Butter chicken and naan is good. But the staff are always in a rush for you to leave so they have other customers.

Got a Lamb Biriyani take away. The dish shouldn’t be named as Biriyani. Instead rice mixed with not a well cooked Lamb curry. Not at all authentic 👎🏼
